Austrian diver Axel Scholler dies while diving in Cyprus
Axel Scholler, a 60-year-old Austrian diver, died during a dive to search for sunken objects 1.4 nautical miles off the coast of the Protara-Golden Coast area in southern Cyprus, according to local reports.
The police stated that Scholler dived 100 meters deep with his diving partner but was found unconscious on the surface of the water. Despite receiving medical attention after being taken to the hospital, he was declared dead. The cause of his death remains unknown, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
Scholler was originally from Austria but was said to be residing in Protara. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of diving and the importance of safety measures while engaging in such activities.
