Özersay: President should take initiative, not watcher

People's Party (HP) Chairman Kudret Özersay stated that the idea of ​​"cooperation before a solution", which they have been expressing for years, is likely to be realized with the last visit of the US Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that there is no obligation to be recognized for this to happen. He emphasized that with the pipelines to be built and interconnected connections, energy cooperation between Turkey-Israel-South and Northern Cyprus can be realized, and that this is a historical opportunity.

Noting that the statements of the US Undersecretary of State Nuland during his visits to the region showed that cooperation in the field of energy can be established between Turkey, Israel, Southern and Northern Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean without waiting for the solution of the Cyprus problem, HP leader Özersay said, “Both our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency have opinions on these issues. and developing proposals and working with Turkey to be more visible by making diplomatic initiatives in the international arena. In other words, they should be in the position of taking initiative, not watching.
