2022 was the warmest year in the UK

The average temperature measured throughout the year in England was recorded above 10 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office, the UK's national weather service, said today that 2022 was the warmest year on record for the country, with annual average temperatures exceeding 10 degrees Celsius for the first time.
"Full-year average temperature data in the UK for 2022 resulted in a provisional figure of 10.03°C, the highest on record dating back to 1884. This puts 2022 0.89°C above the 1991-2020 average. and it was 0.15°C higher than the previous record year 2014.
In the summer of 2022, England faced a heat wave. On July 19, the temperature in the country reached 40.3 degrees Celsius, surpassing the 2014 record of 38.7 degrees Celsius. However, with the winter months, the heat wave was left behind. In December, temperatures dropped to -17.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest level in 12 years.
