The material quality of the Isias Hotel, which was destroyed in the earthquake, was found to be defective

LOW CONCRETE QUALITY

It was determined that the concrete quality was obviously low. In addition, it was determined that stream gravel and sand were used as gravel and sand.

In the report, it was written that the concrete mix was easily dispersed even under manual control.

A cold joint application error was encountered at the points where the columns were connected to the beams.

It was noted in the report that insufficient reinforcement and the use of crossties increased the spacing of stirrups up to approximately 25 centimeters.

While ribbed reinforcement was used in some of the columns, it was observed that some of them were non-ribbed. Therefore, it was understood that the concrete was easily stripped from the reinforcement.

These observations reinforced the idea that some additions were made to the building after 1999.
