Condemnation from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the USA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the signing of an agreement by the New Jersey State National Guard of the USA with the Ministry of Defense of the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA).

In a written statement made on the Ministry's official website, "We condemn the signing of an agreement by the New Jersey State National Guard with the Ministry of Defense within the framework of the said program, after the GCA was included in the National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program under the US Department of Defense last October." used.

In the statement, which stated that the statement made by the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the subject was supported, it was stated that the USA had lifted the arms embargo against the Greek Cypriot Administration in 2022 and upset the balance on the Island of Cyprus against the Turkish Cypriots, and these last steps encouraged the Greek Cypriot side to take up arms.

EMPHASIS ON HOMELAND AND GUARANTEE 

The statement criticized Washington's attitude and included the following statements:

"We invite the United States to review this policy, which does not serve the stability of the region in any way, and to contribute to a just, lasting and sustainable solution of the Cyprus issue.

We hope that the Greek Cypriot side will understand that the motherland and the guarantor Turkey will never be able to reach out to the Turkish Cypriots where they are, and we emphasize that we will continue to take every step to ensure the security of the Turkish Cypriot people."
