Heatwave alert: Temperatures to soar to 40-43 degrees celsius
The Meteorology Department has announced that the air temperature will rise to 40-43 degrees Celsius by the weekend.
According to the Meteorology Department, the inland regions will experience temperatures ranging from 40 to 43 degrees Celsius towards the end of the week. In the early days of the week, the temperatures will hover around 36-39 degrees Celsius in the inland areas. On the coasts, temperatures will be around 30-33 degrees Celsius in the first days of the week, increasing to approximately 34-37 degrees Celsius in the following days.
Based on the weekly weather forecast report from the Meteorology Department, the region is expected to be influenced by a low-pressure system and a hot air mass, with moderate northerly and westerly winds occasionally blowing strongly.
