New Ercan Airport inaugurated with a grand ceremony

The opening ceremony of the Ercan Airport's new terminal and runway was held with the attendance of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Assembly Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal, Üstel, ministers, and other officials.

The ceremony began with the national anthem and a moment of silence, followed by the screening of a promotional film showcasing the airport's facilities.

After the promotional film, President Tatar and President Erdogan delivered speeches. Tatar addressed the international community, urging an end to the injustices against Turkish Cypriots in terms of travel freedom.

In his speech, Erdogan also mentioned the unfair embargoes imposed by the international community, stating, "The day when this newly opened terminal and runway will be used for international flights is not far away."

Following the recitation of prayers, the inauguration ribbon was cut by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Ersin Tatar, as well as other political and official figures from both the TRNC and Turkey.
