Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu: We are close to reaching an agreement with the UN in Pile...

According to the latest information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası and confirmed by Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, the crisis over the road in Pile, which caused a summit with the United Nations (UN), is about to end with a new agreement.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu confirmed that he personally met with the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Cyprus and the Chief of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, Colin Stewart, yesterday and said they will meet again on Monday.

Speaking to Kıbrıs Postası, Ertuğruloğlu said, "Our negotiations with the UN are about to conclude today or tomorrow with an agreement... In other words, we will continue with the construction of the road."

Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu summarized the current situation in the field and at the table with the following words;

"There is no possibility of giving up on the project. No one, including the UN, is debating whether this road should be built or not. Everyone should know that this road will be built.

Our efforts to reach an agreement with the UN for its construction are ongoing... Colin Stewart will come again on Monday... I can say that we will reach an agreement today or tomorrow... We will conclude it and continue with the construction of the road in the field..."
