Nikos Hristodulidis calls for investigation into attack on mosque
Nikos Hristodulidis, President of the Republic of Cyprus, has ordered an investigation into the attack on the İbrahimağa Köprülü Mosque in Limassol. According to reports from Alithia newspaper and other sources, the government also condemned the incident.
Rum Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letimbiotis stated via the social media platform "X" that the attack on İbrahimağa Köprülü Mosque is an unacceptable and condemnable act. He emphasized that the government will not tolerate such incidents under any circumstances.
Letimbiotis mentioned that President Nikos Hristodulidis has instructed the relevant authorities to promptly investigate the attack, identify the perpetrators, and bring them to justice. He further highlighted that the preservation of religious freedoms and the protection of the country's religious monuments are non-negotiable priorities for the state and the people.
Letimbiotis stressed that the government has a zero-tolerance policy toward acts of violence, underlining that maintaining public security is a fundamental obligation of the state.
