Afrika Newspaper Acquitted in Cartoon Case on Appeal

Afrika Newspaper has been acquitted for the second time in the "Cartoon/Collage Case" brought against it by the Prosecutor's Office. The appeal verdict for the "Cartoon/Collage Case" has led to Afrika Newspaper's second acquittal.

According to the appeals court decision, Afrika Newspaper has been acquitted for the second time.
Afrika Newspaper had published a collage related to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and as a result, the newspaper's Editor-in-Chief Şener Levent and Director Ali Osman Tabak were charged with "insulting foreign heads of state" and "straining relations between the TRNC and Turkey."
The cartoon/collage in question was published under the title "Through Greek Eyes" in Afrika Newspaper on December 21, 2017.
