The summit, to be held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, extended invitations to the leaders of TSO observer members Turkmenistan and Hungary, but no representative from TRNC received an invitation.

The summit, hosted by Kazakh President Kasim Cömert Tokayev with the slogan "Turkic Era," will be attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kyrgyzstan President Sadır Caparov, and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu had previously claimed that TRNC's observer membership in TSO was the "first step toward global recognition."
