Ahmet Savaşan: We must work side by side with individuals with disabilities to design solutions based on equal rights

President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in his message published on December 3rd World Disability Day, pointed out that the theme of the 2023 World Disabled Day is "to save and achieve the sustainable development goals by acting together with the disabled people" and stated that achieving the sustainable development goals is especially important for the 1.3 billion disabled individuals around the world. He emphasized that it is imperative not to leave anyone behind.

Pointing out that disabled individuals around the world face systematic discrimination and obstacles that restrict their inclusion in all areas of society, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that truly sustainable development for disabled individuals is possible by ensuring that they are not only beneficiaries but also actively participate in social, economic and political life...

“WE SUPPORT THE UN'S CALL FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN ALL DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES...”

Dr. Ahmet Savaşan; "As the President Country of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC),  we support the determination put forward by the UN that disabled people should participate in all decision-making processes in line with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and in countries' efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, from the elimination of poverty to health, education, and climate action," said and Dr. Ahmet Savaşan continued; "On this important day, as the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) , we invite the whole world to comply with the UN's call to work side by side with disabled individuals to design and offer solutions based on equal rights in every country and society."
