11 People Killed, 57 Injured in Chain Traffic Accident in Turkey

In a chain traffic accident involving seven vehicles on the Northern Marmara Highway in the Sakarya region, Turkey, 11 people died, and 57 others were injured. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that an investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.

A chain collision involving seven vehicles, including three buses and a truck, occurred on the Istanbul-bound lane of the Northern Marmara Highway at the Dağdibi location.

Due to the accident, traffic in the Istanbul direction of the highway came to a halt.

Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz reported that 11 people lost their lives, and 57 others were injured in the accident.

Governor Karadeniz stated that the injured individuals have been transported to hospitals, and rescue teams continue their efforts in the region.

Governor Karadeniz also mentioned that the condition of seven people is critical.

Teams are working to remove the vehicles from the road in the area affected by dense fog.

INVESTIGATION INITIATED

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that an investigation has been launched into the accident where 11 citizens lost their lives on the Northern Marmara Highway this morning.

Making a statement on social media platform X regarding the accident, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç said, "An investigation has been initiated by the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the accident, and three public prosecutors have been assigned under the coordination of an acting chief public prosecutor."
