Global Ocean Surface Temperature Reaches Record High

The daily average temperature of the ocean surface worldwide reached 21.2 degrees Celsius in March, surpassing the 2023 record and marking the "highest temperature ever recorded."

According to data from Climate Reanalyzer at the University of Maine and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the United States, global warming has led to an increase in ocean surface temperatures.
The data indicates that the highest ocean temperature in 2023 was measured at 21.1 degrees Celsius in August, while this year, a record ocean surface temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in March.
Gregory C. Johnson, a marine scientist at NOAA, stated in an interview with CNN that the average global ocean temperature measured in 2023 was 0.25 degrees Celsius higher than in 2022, and this increase corresponds to a year's worth of warming over a span of 20 years.
Johnson expressed that as greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere continue to rise, they anticipate the recording of these record temperatures to persist.
