As a candidate in the upcoming European Parliament elections on June 9th, European Parliamentarian Niyazi Kızılyürek met with the public in Lefke, Yeşilyurt, and Doğancı, conversed with producers, and explained their rights in the European Union.

During the visits held under the title "Meetings for Our Rights in Europe," Niyazi Kızılyürek, who received considerable attention, emphasized the importance of Turkish Cypriot participation in the June 9 elections, stating, "This election will be a significant indicator of Turkish Cypriots standing up for their rights in the European Union."

Kızılyürek mentioned that the potential in the Green Line Regulation has not been fully utilized, saying, "We can exceed the level of trade at 15 million Euros," highlighting the European Union as a significant gateway to address existing issues.

Stating, "We are European Union members, we have rights, and we must overcome challenges," Kızılyürek recalled his intensive efforts on issues such as Turkish becoming an official language of the European Union, citizenship issues arising from mixed marriages, and inclusion in the Erasmus education program.

Acknowledging the challenges in citrus production, Kızılyürek emphasized the importance of the European market.

Kızılyürek said, "We will fight together, claim our rights, and benefit from the opportunities of the European Union. We can only achieve this together."
