Import of Frozen Meat to Begin Within 10 Days

Prime Minister Üstel provided details about the Cabinet's decision regarding meat imports. He mentioned that bone-in meats will be imported from Europe via Turkey. Prices have been sourced from Spain, the Netherlands, and Romania. Üstel noted that discussions have been held with companies that import frozen meat into the country and that these companies will apply a 10% profit margin.

The price of boneless lamb from the Netherlands will be 400 TL per kilogram, and 300 TL per kilogram for minced beef with 10% fat content. Additionally, Üstel announced a subsidy of 1,100 TL for local meat and continued support for animal feed. "It is very important for us that our people have access to meat," Üstel stated.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the Soil Products Office (TÜK) has completed necessary negotiations with companies to ensure the arrival of meat products into the country, and the imports will start within 10 days. "Everyone will be able to sacrifice an animal during the holiday," he reiterated.

Furthermore, Üstel emphasized that the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Veterinary Department, and the Ministry of Finance will continue their inspections of food products.
