During his appearance on Kıbrıs Postası TV's "Sabah Postası" program, hosted by Gökhan Altıner, Kilim called on voters to support pro-federation, democratic, and peace-oriented candidates.

Kilim, who is also the Secretary General of Volt Cyprus, addressed several key issues during his interview on Kanal Sim's "Gün Arası" program with Serkan Soyalan.

EU Perception and Policy Recommendations:

Kilim highlighted that the EU perceives Turkish Cypriots as separatists due to the lack of a mutually agreed solution model. He stressed the need for a government that positively responds to cooperation, noting that the current administration hinders potential support programs from the EU, which is not sustainable. He suggested that the certification system used for halloumi should be applied to other sectors as well.

Moderate Policy on Mixed Marriages:

Discussing the situation of children from mixed marriages, Kilim emphasized the need for a moderate policy and greater awareness in the southern part of Cyprus. He pointed out that many in the south are unaware of the issue, which has led to inequality for children who cannot obtain citizenship from their Cypriot parent.

Addressing Broader Challenges:

Kilim mentioned that the current economic crisis and the influx of migrants due to regional wars are not unique to Cyprus but affect all of Europe. He emphasized the importance of collective action through Volt, which operates Europe-wide, to address these challenges.

Truth and Reconciliation Commission:

Kilim revealed Volt's plan to establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, aiming to ensure that historical truths are acknowledged to foster a peaceful process. He believes that understanding and discussing historical facts is crucial for progress.

Energy Policy and Green Transformation:

Kilim criticized the TRNC administration for rejecting an EU-supported project to install energy panels in the buffer zone, which would have provided cheaper electricity. He highlighted the importance of participating in the green transition to avoid future dependence and high costs.

Volt's Contributions and Potential:

Kilim explained Volt's ability to influence policies through its European network, noting that having representatives in the EP allows for direct advocacy on Cypriot issues. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts by both communities to make their voices heard and defend common interests.

The Significance of EP Elections:

Kilim stressed that the EP elections are a significant opportunity for Turkish Cypriots to voice their opinions and demonstrate their will. He urged voters to support pro-federation and democratic candidates to ensure progressive policies are represented. He concluded by stating that there are no "wasted votes" and that collective participation can lead to substantial positive outcomes.

By voting in the EP elections, Turkish Cypriots have the chance to influence decisions that affect their future, making it a crucial opportunity for their voices to be heard and their interests to be protected.
