Weekly Fire Department Report: 19 Fires Cause Over 1 Million TL in Damage

In a statement released by the Fire Department, it was noted that these incidents resulted in approximately 1,817,600 TL in damages.

The breakdown of the fires included 7 in Girne, 5 in Lefkoşa, 3 in İskele, 2 in Gemikonağı, and 1 each in Gazimağusa and Güzelyurt.

The probable causes of the fires ranged from short circuits, deliberate acts of ignition by unknown persons, sparks from water pumps igniting dry grass, sparks from welding machines causing grass fires, to glass bottles acting as lenses and igniting trash under sunlight.

In addition to fire incidents, the Fire Department's specialized services responded to incidents such as rescuing individuals trapped in elevators and vehicles during traffic accidents, providing fire safety training, ensuring road safety, rescuing animals trapped in water tanks, rescuing cats stuck in vehicle engines and walls, and assisting in the retrieval of individuals who fell into the sea from concrete walls.
