Presidential Race Heats Up: YDP to Field Its Own Candidate
Bertan Zaroğlu, Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson of the Rebirth Party (YDP), announced that the party intends to field its own candidate in the first round of the upcoming presidential elections. Unless extraordinary circumstances arise, YDP plans to have its own representative in the race.
In a written statement, Zaroğlu expressed the party's prevailing opinion: "The general consensus within the YDP is that, similar to the previous election, every political party should support its own candidate in the first round. In the second round, political parties with similar ideologies should unite to elect the new president."
Zaroğlu highlighted the YDP’s strengthened position following its recent congress and emphasized that the party base has set its sights on the presidential elections as their primary goal.
