Arrests Over Greek Cypriot Properties Now Affecting Ordinary Citizens
Following the arrest of Afik Group Director Simon Aykut, who was accused of building on and selling Greek Cypriot properties in the North without the owner's consent, another arrest has been made involving an ordinary citizen accused of constructing on Greek Cypriot agricultural land.
After the high-profile arrest of Simon Aykut for allegedly constructing buildings on Greek Cypriot properties in Northern Cyprus and selling them without the owners' knowledge, this issue has now reached ordinary citizens. According to information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası, a citizen has been arrested for allegedly building on agricultural land.
The citizen’s lawyer, contacted by Kıbrıs Postası, confirmed that their client has been charged and released on bail. The citizen is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday.
