According to Fileleftheros, Mitsotakis will visit Southern Cyprus upon the invitation of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to participate in the anti-occupation events commemorating the operation. This marks the first time a Greek Prime Minister will attend such an event in Southern Cyprus.

Both leaders being on the island simultaneously is unprecedented, with Erdogan participating in celebrations in Northern Cyprus and Mitsotakis attending the condemnation event in the South.

Ahead of these events, Erdogan and Mitsotakis are expected to meet at the NATO leaders' summit in Washington, D.C., to discuss developments following their meeting in Ankara this past May.
