Pombo, charged with unauthorized residence in the TRNC, appeared in court again yesterday.

Police officer Emine Çıkan from the Nicosia Criminal Branch presented the facts in court. She reported that on June 21, at approximately 13:25, Pombo, a resident of Nicosia, visited the Nicosia Police Directorate's Immigration Branch to obtain an entry-exit document. During the immigration check, it was discovered that Pombo had been living in the TRNC without any immigration procedures since December 11, 2023, a total of 193 days.

Following his arrest, a statement was obtained from Pombo as part of the investigation conducted by the Immigration Department of the Nicosia Police Directorate.

The police argued that if released, Pombo would likely continue to reside in the TRNC without authorization. Therefore, they requested that he be detained in the Central Prison until his trial.

Judge Zehra Yalkut Bilgeç, after evaluating the evidence, ordered that Pombo be detained for a period not exceeding 20 days in the Central Prison.
