The match was organized in partnership with the TVF, Ankara University, the Italian Volleyball Federation, and non-governmental organizations German SGRIM V and Greek Fix Art.

Turkish, Greek, and German students participating in the project played the friendship match on a court set up at the border gate, with Turkish and Greek music playing in the background.

TVF Vice President Alper Sedat Aslandaş spoke to AA, explaining that the project spanned nearly two years and included various activities. "We aimed to introduce sports to children with limited access due to economic or social conditions. Additionally, we organized activities to develop environmental awareness and social solidarity among the children," Aslandaş said.

Onur Hoşnut, a lecturer at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences, Sitting Volleyball Coordinator, and TVF EU Project Specialist, highlighted the significance of this long-term Erasmus Youth Program's closing event. "We aimed to bring together and integrate children from different countries, and we concluded the project with a friendship match at the Turkey-Greece border. The match emphasized friendship over competition," Hoşnut stated.

Following the match, Edirne Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate Sports Branch Manager Murat Ulaştır, Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate Branch Manager Sebahattin Bilgiç, and customs officials congratulated the students.
