Republic Assembly Enacts 97 Laws in Third Legislative Year
The TRNC Republic Assembly approved 97 laws during its third legislative year, holding a total of 65 sessions, including 64 regular and one extraordinary session.
From October 2 to June 24, the Assembly received 74 bills and 21 law proposals. By June 20, 88 laws had been approved by the General Assembly, published in the Official Gazette, and put into effect. Additionally, nine more laws were approved during Monday's session and forwarded to the Presidency.
In an official statement, it was noted that the Assembly will go on recess starting June 30, but committee work will continue until September 30. The fourth legislative year is set to commence on Tuesday, October 1.
