South Cyprus Approves €351.3 Million Supplementary Budget
South Cyprus has approved its first supplementary budget of 2024, totaling €351.3 million. The Council of Ministers sanctioned the additional budget during today's session to address the increased needs of various ministries.
According to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), following the meeting, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos stated that the most significant expenditures were allocated for the purchase of medicines and vaccines, amounting to €103 million.
Keravnos also highlighted that due to the drought experienced this year, €58 million was needed for the procurement of water from seawater desalination plants.
