Christodoulides Meets with Holguin: "We Had a Very Productive and Special Meeting. I Will Convene the National Council Upon My Return"
Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides met with Maria Angela Holguin, the UN Secretary-General's special representative, in Brussels today. In his statements to the press following the meeting, Christodoulides described the meeting as "very productive and special," and announced that he will call the National Council to convene upon his return to Cyprus.
The meeting, held within the framework of the European Council, focused on the resumption of negotiations and finding a solution to the Cyprus problem.
In his remarks to the press, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides said, "We had a very productive and special meeting," and announced that he will convene the National Council on Friday evening after his return to Cyprus to inform political leaders about the developments.
Meanwhile, TRNC President Ersin Tatar traveled to London on Thursday to attend the 7th Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival. During his stay in the UK, Tatar is expected to meet with Holguin. He had previously announced on BRT that he would meet with Holguin on July 1st.
