According to a statement from the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Erhürman, speaking on North Cyprus TV with Ahmet Kaptan, also evaluated his visit to Ankara and provided information about their meetings.

"IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE"

Erhürman touched upon the issue of uncontrolled population growth, stating that this has led to discussions about xenophobia. Highlighting the uncontrolled growth of certain aspects of the country, Erhürman pointed out that the number of universities has increased without oversight.

He questioned how the Ministry of National Education could monitor 23 universities with its current number of inspectors, emphasizing that all problems are interconnected. Erhürman underscored the importance of controlled growth considering the country’s scale and expressed concern about the uncontrolled growth. "Those who claim to govern this country have started causing irreversible damage," he said.

FOUR MAIN TOPICS DURING THE ANKARA VISIT

Erhürman recalled that Özgür Özel, after becoming the leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), made his first visit to Cyprus. Following an invitation, Erhürman and his team went to Ankara, where they held meetings with the CHP, the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), and some journalists.

Erhürman mentioned that they discussed the state of the economy with TOBB and had a meeting with Mustafa Elitaş, Deputy Chairman of the AKP. He outlined the four main topics they discussed: developments in the Cyprus issue, the problems of people who are unable to enter Turkey, property issues, and threats from Hezbollah.

"OPPORTUNITY TO ESTABLISH DIALOGUE"

Providing details about their meetings in Ankara, Erhürman said, "We had the opportunity to share our views in detail. Dialogue is not a monologue. The important thing is to listen to and understand the other side and for them to listen to and understand you. There was a lack of dialogue, and we had the opportunity to establish it."

Erhürman noted that they had the chance to explain what they found wrong with the Cyprus issue and what they wanted, and emphasized the importance of their meetings with journalists in Ankara.

"We, as the CTP, have never taken the approach of discussing the internal agenda of the TRNC with Turkey or asking Turkey for something to arrange," Erhürman said. "Our dialogue is about issues concerning both Turkey and the TRNC."

He discussed the negative impact of the property crisis on the construction sector and the problems in higher education. "Normally, these issues should be keeping those who govern the country up at night," Erhürman said.

Noting that the country's leaders live in a completely different world, Erhürman stated, "Repetitive phrases are continuously echoed. This will lead the Turkish Cypriot people nowhere."

"INEFFICIENCY AT ITS PEAK"

Erhürman also pointed out a "decline in quality" in the bureaucracy, questioning how these issues could be resolved. Highlighting the high level of inefficiency, he remarked, "Certain institutions were once known for their bureaucracies in this country... They have been destroyed."

Stressing that it is not the time for unnecessary debates and that the country is slipping away, Erhürman noted that every passing day works against the country and its children.
