The construction of the second phase of the Turkish Cypriot State Theater building is set to commence, following a contract signing between the Deputy Prime Ministry and the contractor firm.

In a ceremony held at the Hakan Ataöv Conference Room, Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu and Director of Buldukmen Transport Ltd., Hüseyin Bulduk, signed the agreement. The second phase, which covers the building's main construction, is expected to be completed within five months.

The contract was awarded to Buldukmen Transport Ltd., marking a significant step forward in the long-awaited project. The signing ceremony was attended by the Director of the Turkish Cypriot State Theaters, Nazım Ced, state theater artists, and ministry officials.

Ataoğlu: "We Will Closely Monitor the Process"

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu expressed during the ceremony that there has been a long-standing expectation for the State Theater building. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to the project, paralleling their dedication shown in the Girne Ancient Harbor project.

Ataoğlu highlighted that the project was put out to tender following extensive planning funded by the ministry's budget. He thanked the winning firm and noted that the construction period is set to be completed within five months. Ataoğlu assured that they would closely monitor the progress, indicating that materials were already being transported to the construction site, suggesting that the project could be completed even sooner than expected.

Ataoğlu thanked everyone involved in the project and expressed hope that the completion of the State Theater building would be beneficial for theater artists and the broader community of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Ced: "A Very Meaningful Day"

Nazım Ced, Director of the Turkish Cypriot State Theaters, described the day as very meaningful, expressing joy at reaching the contract stage for the construction of the State Theater building, a project long planned but never realized until now.

Following the speeches, the contract was signed, and a group photo was taken with the theater artists.

The commencement of the second phase of construction marks a significant milestone for the Turkish Cypriot State Theater, promising a new and modern facility for the performing arts in the region.
