The summit, themed "Building a Sustainable Future with Transport Connectivity and Climate Action," will focus on strengthening the Middle Corridor and other transportation links, as well as preparing for Azerbaijan's hosting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 29th Conference of the Parties (COP 29) from November 11-22.

At the summit, state leaders will sign the Karabakh Declaration and approve certain documents related to Turkic Council projects. Prior to the summit, the Turkic Council's Foreign Ministers Council will meet in Shusha to finalize the summit agenda and documents for signing by heads of state.

President Tatar to Attend Summit

President Ersin Tatar will attend the summit upon invitation from President Aliyev. In a statement, Aliyev emphasized, "The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will also participate in the summit upon my invitation. This will accelerate the unity of Turkic peoples."

Tatar expressed gratitude to Aliyev for the invitation, highlighting, "These initiatives and developments towards increasing the visibility of the TRNC and its greater acceptance by the international community over time are exceptionally important and strengthen our new policies."

Symbolic Importance of Holding the Summit in Shusha

President Ilham Aliyev previously suggested holding an informal summit in Shusha, stating that annual meetings of Turkic Council leaders are insufficient. He underscored the symbolic significance of Shusha hosting the summit, noting ongoing rapid development efforts in the liberated city over the past four years.

Aliyev remarked, "Hosting the summit in Shusha holds great symbolic importance. Shusha has been free for 4 years now, with rapid reconstruction and revival efforts underway. Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan presidents have visited Shusha, while the Kyrgyzstan President visited Aghdam and Fuzuli. This represents significant support for the reconstruction of liberated territories. We once again feel the support of our brothers. The entire Azerbaijani nation feels this."
