The collaboration involves the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, Central Bank, and the Statistics Bureau. They emphasized the necessity of reliable and up-to-date data for planning and enhancing tourism sector strategies and marketing activities, aligning with EU standards to produce comparable tourism statistics.

The survey will be conducted at airports, seaports, and all border crossings, targeting everyone entering or exiting the country. It aims to gather information on individuals' country of residence, nationality, purpose of visit, and primary language used. This data will help profile travelers and set the stage for the detailed surveys planned for 2025.

The initial phase of the survey, scheduled from July to December 2024, will determine the sampling design and weights for subsequent analyses. Trained interviewers will conduct face-to-face interviews using tablets throughout the day at designated border crossings and ports. Assistance to survey staff and positive contributions from participants are encouraged to facilitate achieving desired outcomes.

Concerns, complaints, and suggestions related to the survey can be reported to 6013000 – 6013001 or emailed to info@stat.gov.ct.tr for further assistance and resolution.
