Two Separate Traffic Accidents in One Day: 3 Injured

Two separate traffic accidents occurred yesterday on the main road between Nicosia and Omorfo and in Alayköy, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

According to information from the Police Press Office, the first accident occurred around 11:30 AM at the 1st kilometer of the Nicosia-Omorfo main road.

Hüseyin Palabıyık (E-46), under the influence of 425 milligrams of alcohol, collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Gülgün Kahraman (K-26) with license plate NY 641, which was stationary due to traffic congestion near Ali Boy Buffet, while Palabıyık was driving his vehicle with license plate EF 053 in the same direction. Although no injuries were reported from the collision, Hüseyin Palabıyık was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic accident.

MOTORCYCLE COLLIDES WITH BICYCLE... 3 INJURED

Meanwhile, the second accident occurred around 9:00 PM on Ulus Street in Alayköy.

While riding a motorcycle with license plate SB 716, Nurullah Ulaş (E-47) approached the intersection with Sakarya Street, turned onto Demet Street without properly checking for oncoming traffic that might continue straight. At the same time, Yiğit Karadeniz (E-17), riding a mountain bicycle on Ulus Street, approached the intersection without checking for oncoming traffic and collided with Nurullah Ulaş's motorcycle within the intersection, causing him to fall off his bicycle.

As a result of the collision, Yiğit Karadeniz, Nurullah Ulaş (driver of SB 716 motorcycle), and Hatice Ulaş (passenger on the motorcycle, K-45) were taken to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

Hatice Ulaş is being treated in the intensive care unit for brain hemorrhage and rib fractures, Nurullah Ulaş for a broken left thumb, and Yiğit Karadeniz is under observation for precautionary reasons.

Police investigation into the accidents is ongoing.
