Soyer: Relying on Ankara for Everything Renders Society Identityless and Powerless
A- A A+

In an appearance on the "Sabah Postası" program on Kıbrıs Postası TV, Soyer highlighted the need for shared values to solve the country's issues and criticized the miscalculated inflation rates that have devastated the nation.

Soyer stated that the official inflation rate is 83%, but opposition members in the Assembly scrutinized the Statistics Institute, revealing the true figures. He pointed out that the Institute incorrectly calculated inflation by using unchanged prices from a year ago, aiming to manipulate the cost-of-living allowance to reduce payments.

Soyer’s Criticism of Inflation: "This is the Greatest Crime"

Soyer argued that incorrect calculations do not offer solutions to the people's problems and that not knowing the true inflation rate leads to price increases. He described this manipulation as "the greatest crime" and emphasized that such errors, intended to save on public budget expenditures, significantly harm people.

"Relying on Ankara for Everything Renders Society Identityless and Powerless"

Soyer warned that expecting everything from Ankara would result in a society devoid of identity, will, and intellect. He stressed the importance of the people maintaining their identity and character to pursue the national cause, noting that continued breakdowns and corruptions erode future hope and drive people away from the country. Highlighting the loss of many knowledgeable individuals and the need for intellectual maturity, Soyer stated, "We need to avoid the point they want to push us towards."
