Töre: July 20 is a Celebration for Us
In a meeting with the President of the Turkish Archers Foundation, Haydar Ali Yıldız, who is in the TRNC for the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day celebrations, Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre stated, "July 20 is a celebration for us."
According to a written statement from the Parliament, Töre welcomed Yıldız in the Parliament's Honor Hall. During the meeting, Töre emphasized the significance of archery in Turkish history and expressed his pleasure at organizing a joint event in the TRNC with the Yunus Emre Institute.
Töre stressed that July 20 is a celebration for the Turkish Cypriot people and that the entire world should recognize it as such.
Referring to the events in Gaza, Töre said, “If the Happy Peace Operation had not taken place, Cyprus might have become another Crete, so no one should try to disrupt our peace.”
Haydar Ali Yıldız, President of the Turkish Archers Foundation, also provided information about their activities.
