Eroğlu highlighted that July 20, 1974, marks a turning point in the history of Turkish Cypriots, and its significance should be well understood, especially by the younger generation.

Eroğlu stressed that "The Greeks' ultimate goal is to make decisions at will, resolve property and territorial issues in a way that would devastate Turkish Cypriots through EU norms, and eliminate Turkey’s indispensable military presence and effective guarantees on the island." He pointed out that while he and all the presidents of the TRNC have genuinely sought a solution, the Greeks' misguided attitudes have made progress impossible. He concluded that it remains impossible to reach an agreement with the Greeks.

Eroğlu praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s calls at the United Nations General Assembly meetings in 2021 and 2022 for the official recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He also highlighted Erdoğan’s recent statement that the goal is for the TRNC to become a full member of the Organization of Turkic States. Eroğlu described these as statements of historical importance and stressed the need to persist in these efforts and to continue the struggle for the recognition of the TRNC with patience and determination.
