Two Arrested with 41 Grams of Drugs in Kyrenia

In Kyrenia, two individuals were arrested for possession of 41 grams of drugs during an operation carried out by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate.

The suspects, Godstime Onyemekara and Modestus Chiemeka, were brought to court yesterday for a bail request after the completion of the investigation.

Police officer Mustafa Yanaroğlu presented the facts in court.

According to the police, on July 9, 2024, at around 16:30, during the operation by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate in Kyrenia, the arrested suspects were found with approximately 41 grams of cannabis, packaged for sale, and a sensitive scale with drug residues.

The suspects were brought to court twice, on July 10 and July 13, and were each given an 8-day detention order. The police reported that the necessary investigation had been completed during this period and requested that the suspects be kept in detention.

Judge Murat Soytaç, after reviewing the testimony, ordered the suspects to be held in prison for a period not exceeding 45 days.
