In a statement marking the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu evaluated the resolution adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which supports a two-state solution, as a "historic decision."

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ertuğruloğlu highlighted that the resolution calls on the world to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as it deserves. He emphasized that the resolution underscores that the only definitive solution on the island is to recognize the inherent rights of the Turkish Cypriot people, affirm their sovereign equality, and acknowledge their equal international status.

The statement included the following remarks:

"The TBMM, where national will is manifested, has once again shown its support for the Turkish Cypriot people under all circumstances. The Turkish Cypriot people have moved forward with the support of the Motherland Turkey at every stage of their existential struggle in Cyprus and have achieved success. The strong bipartisan support provided by the Motherland Turkey to the ongoing policy regarding the Cyprus issue is of great significance. We firmly believe that the Turkish Cypriot people will continue to exist in peace and security under the roof of the TRNC forever. Congratulations on the 50th anniversary of peace and freedom for the Turkish Cypriots on the island."
