In a written statement, Özersay accused that a member of the National Unity Party (UBP) was receiving special treatment in the fake diploma investigation. He emphasized that there are others in similar situations with known fake diplomas who also need to face the court, and this process should not be further prolonged.

Özersay also accused Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of attempting to interfere with the investigation. He alleged, "We all know that Mr. Ünal is trying to interfere with police and prosecutor procedures for his own party congress interests, attempting to delay certain matters and facilitate special treatment."

Pointing out that political positions are temporary, Özersay urged police and public officials to resist political pressure. He stressed that the investigation process should not be allowed to be delayed further.
