Christodoulides, who met with Mitsotakis during the commemoration events in Southern Cyprus, indicated that the coming months will be critical and challenging. He suggested that they will likely need to make decisive and courageous decisions in the near future.

In an interview with the Alpha channel, President Christodoulides stated that “all pieces of the puzzle are currently on the table,” and expressed uncertainty about how easily a Turkish leader might assume responsibility should President Erdoğan step away. He emphasized that the time for making tough decisions is approaching, and he is prepared for this challenge.

Christodoulides also touched upon Confidence-Building Measures, noting that he has other measures in mind and hopes that upcoming developments will lead to their announcement. He clarified that these measures are not limited to the opening of more crossing points and reiterated that a solution is needed, as division is not acceptable.

The Cypriot leader underscored priorities such as ending the occupation, reunifying the island, and finding a solution within the framework of UN resolutions.
