The match, held at Lefke Karadağ 16 August Stadium, experienced a power outage in the 27th minute due to a malfunction. The match resumed after a generator was activated to power the floodlights. Reports surfaced that President Tatar, who was watching the match from the stands, was met with protest slogans.

"I Did Not Encounter Any Protest"

President Tatar addressed these claims on his social media account, emphasizing that the 2-3 minute power outage did not lead to any protests. He asserted that the reports were entirely false and stated, "It is a fabricated news story intended to create political polemics."

"I Felt the Love of All Citizens"

In his post, Ersin Tatar shared the following:

"Yesterday, I attended the Gaziveren-Doğancı derby match, which I believe was attended by around 5,000 people. Regardless of political views, be it right-wing or left-wing, I felt and witnessed the genuine affection of all citizens. The 2-3 minute power outage did not result in any protests. This is entirely a false news story aimed at creating political controversy."
