Nicosia's Historic Summer of Investments, Says Mayor Harmancı

In his statement on social media, Mayor Harmancı highlighted that Nicosia is experiencing an unprecedented summer of simultaneous investment initiatives. He detailed several major projects currently underway:

Two sewerage tenders are in progress, aiming to connect 2,500 households to the sewer system. These projects, valued at 200 million Turkish Liras, are actively being worked on.

Construction has begun on the main sewer line on Dereboyu (Mehmet Akif Street), with an investment of 37 million Turkish Liras. This project is proceeding according to schedule.

A new water line project, designed to supply the Şehit Çocuğu properties and Ortaköy, is also in development, involving an investment of 25 million Turkish Liras.

Upgrades to sidewalks and stormwater systems in Ortaköy and Mehmet Akif Street are ongoing, with an investment of 30 million Turkish Liras.

In addition, a significant future initiative will address environmental concerns by modernizing waste treatment methods. This project, set to begin within the month, will include the installation of a solar energy plant later in the year.

Mayor Harmancı concluded his message by affirming the city's commitment to future progress. “We are preparing this city for the future,” he stated. “We have worked hard and invested significantly. Currently, over 300 million Turkish Liras worth of projects are underway, with an additional 200 million Turkish Liras in new investments scheduled for this year. We will continue to work tirelessly.”
