Gürcafer was arrested on charges of "Forgery and Circulation of Forged Documents," while the other suspects were detained for "Forgery."

Key Details from the Court

Police Sergeant Yahya Suiçmez, testifying under oath, stated that Cafer Gürcafer allegedly received a payment of 138,800 Euros in connection with the crime of embezzlement from a person involved in project management.

Suiçmez reported that a company representative filed a complaint against Cafer Gürcafer on June 4, alleging that Gürcafer made a quota application for 55 workers related to the construction company.

He noted that two separate preliminary permit applications were made on behalf of a company between June 9 and June 21, and 16 workers were brought in. However, 14 of these workers from third-world countries are currently unaccounted for.

Suiçmez also mentioned that an investigation has been initiated under the Pakistan protocol, with Gürcafer being asked for an explanation. Although Gürcafer claimed that only 22 individuals were brought in, there is evidence suggesting a larger number.

Furthermore, Suiçmez alleged that suspect N.T. provided documents to unauthorized persons before the completion of preliminary permit procedures.

Suiçmez stated, "The workers were brought into the island without the knowledge of the authorized companies."

He revealed that all the scanned documents on the server at the Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association were deleted within minutes by suspect N.T. on June 28.

Lawyers Süleyman Özdoylular and Hüseyin Koralp did not object to the request for extended detention but claimed that the complainant and Cafer Gürcafer were business partners and had a hostile relationship.

Detention Period

The suspects will be detained for two days as part of the ongoing investigation.
