During an interview on Ada TV, Taçoy addressed questions from host Cüneyt Oruç and emphasized his commitment to running in the party’s leadership race despite attempts to dissuade him.

Taçoy reaffirmed his candidacy, stating that despite rumors that he would not be able to officially register or that he would withdraw, he has remained steadfast. He dismissed claims that he could not become Prime Minister even if he won, labeling such statements as "cheap politics."

Highlighting citizen dissatisfaction, Taçoy noted that he has never experienced a time when the public was as disgruntled as they are now, with a prevailing sentiment of uncertainty about who is actually governing the country. He asserted that the perception of external control over the government is damaging both to the country and to the UBP.

Taçoy criticized the current administration, claiming it has led to public disillusionment due to emerging corruption and irregularities. He also mentioned the "Ünal Abi" formula, which he said was a one-time solution that some are now attempting to disregard.

Emphasizing the importance of democracy and legality in the upcoming congress, Taçoy expressed concerns about the membership registration process, questioning its compliance with the party's regulations. He claimed to have evidence of tampering with membership lists and has identified those responsible.

"If things continue this way, I will take this to the necessary authorities," Taçoy asserted, emphasizing his determination to pursue the issue legally and politically. He called for transparency and warned against individuals manipulating the process for personal gain.

Taçoy expressed skepticism about former candidates who opposed Ünal Üstel’s leadership now supporting him, suggesting it would be illogical given their initial opposition. He assured that his supporters know what to do and reiterated his commitment to the party and the country.

Regarding potential outcomes of the congress, Taçoy stated that he has clear plans for both scenarios. He also commented on YDP Chairman Erhan Arıklı's remarks about potential government changes, criticizing Arıklı's suggestion of early elections as unrealistic and advising him not to interfere in UBP affairs.

Taçoy stressed the importance of adhering to democratic rules in determining the list of members eligible to vote in the congress. He criticized attempts to manipulate the process and urged party members to rely on the party's regulations when making decisions.

Looking ahead to the 2025 presidential election, Taçoy emphasized the need for the UBP to evaluate its strategy and leadership to ensure success in future elections. He called for a national awakening and return to true values, stressing that this can only be achieved through collective effort.
