They highlighted that due to "population and health-related disorganization, lack of direction, and short-term policies, the situation in emergency services has reached a critical point." The association urged immediate action to address infrastructure and doctor shortages in public healthcare.

The KTTB expressed its support for the statement and decision to take action made by the Cyprus Turkish Doctors' Union.

In a written statement, KTTB General Secretary Prof. Dr. Ceyhun Dalkan stated, "The number of emergency medicine specialists should be increased, and the organization of emergency services, as well as the need for general practitioners in these departments, should be addressed urgently. In emergency and other public health services, personnel shortages should be resolved to ensure 24-hour service from registration clerks, security personnel, doormen, laboratory and radiology technicians, and porter services."

Dalkan noted that without strengthening the emergency and service departments in Cengiz Topel, Kyrenia Akçiçek, and Famagusta, and meeting the needs for sufficient doctors and support staff, the chaos and inaccessibility in emergencies and public health cannot be resolved. He added, "In this chaos, lack of system, and intensity, doctors are exhausted and worn out."

Dalkan argued that the situation in the country's emergency departments is too serious to be ignored and warned that the crisis would deepen if not addressed.

"We are both concerned about our patients' access to healthcare and fatigued by this intensity," Dalkan stated. "These major problems in accessing health services should be the top priority of the government and especially the Ministry of Health. They should be resolved quickly in collaboration with organized stakeholders in the health sector."

"As the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association, we want to express our support for the Cyprus Turkish Doctors' Union's statement and decision to take action, and we will act together in their actions," Dalkan concluded.
