Crash in Gönyeli: Drunk Driver Causes Damage to Three Vehicles
A chain-reaction traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred on the Boğazköy-Gönyeli main road due to the influence of alcohol on driver Ahmet Çatozlu.
According to information from the police press office, the accident took place around 21:00 at the intersection of Oray Sitesi, between the 3rd and 4th kilometers of the Boğazköy-Gönyeli main road.
Ahmet Çatozlu (51), who was found to have 129 milligrams of alcohol in his system, was driving a vehicle with license plate LH 222 heading south when he collided with the rear of a GD 425 vehicle driven by Kamil Gürsan (52). Gürsan's vehicle was slowing down to turn into Oray Sitesi.
The impact caused the GD 425 vehicle to hit the rear of a UK 562 truck driven by Hüseyin Sancar (71) in front of it.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against Ahmet Çatozlu, the driver of the LH 222 vehicle, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
