KTAMS: Hunger Threshold for a Family of Four Reaches 26,191 TL
The Cyprus Turkish Public Servants' Union (KTAMS) has announced that the hunger threshold for a family of four in July was calculated to be 26,191 TL.
KTAMS released the following statement:
"Based on the nutritional pattern necessary for a family of four to maintain a healthy diet, obtained from the Directorate of Inpatient Treatment Institutions under the TRNC Ministry of Health, and the average prices of the items in this pattern sent to our union by the Statistical Institute, the hunger threshold for a family of four as of July 31, 2024, has been calculated as 26,191 TL.
According to our union's study, the mandatory food expenditure for a healthy diet for an adult woman is 224.37 TL daily and 6,731.11 TL monthly. For an adult man, it is 234.45 TL daily and 7,033.50 TL monthly. For a child aged 15-19, the amount is 248.37 TL daily and 7,451.10 TL monthly, while for a child aged 4-6, it is 165.83 TL daily and 4,974.90 TL monthly."
