Drunk Driving Leads to Traffic Accidents in Nicosia and Tepebaşı

Two traffic accidents occurred in Nicosia and Tepebaşı, both involving drunk drivers.

At around 11:30 p.m. yesterday on Atatürk Avenue in Nicosia, 34-year-old Muhammad Balal Anjum was driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 124 mg. While driving westward in a vehicle with license plate EM 844, he carelessly collided with the right side of a parked car, UZ 733, in front of a business on the left side of the road.

Continuing on, Anjum's vehicle struck the rear of a car driven by 37-year-old Kadri Nuri (license plate FM 868) at the Yenişehir traffic lights. Nuri had stopped due to a red light while traveling in the same lane and direction.

No injuries were reported from the accident. Anjum was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.

In Tepebaşı, on Hürriyet Avenue, around 8:20 a.m. yesterday, 26-year-old Nihal Ceylan, with a blood alcohol level of 95 mg, lost control of her vehicle (license plate KM 637). Driving southward, she veered into the roadside bank due to inattention, lost control, and crashed into an earthen embankment on the right side of the road.

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
