The practice of discharging sewage waste from other cities into Famagusta has caused significant discomfort throughout the city.

Responding to environmental concerns, Famagusta Municipality's teams have imposed a fine of 33,926 TL (equivalent to one gross minimum wage) on a private company for using a tanker truck to dump sewage waste from another city within municipal limits.

In his statement, Mayor Süleyman Uluçay reiterated his commitment to preventing such waste disposal in the city and assured residents that they could be at ease.
