Israeli National Remanded for Misusing GC Property in North

A 25-year-old Israeli national was remanded in court on Thursday over an ongoing investigation for misusing Greek Cypriot property in the north. Nicosia district court remanded him for five days for investigations including money laundering, suspicious transactions in real estate and use of land registered to another person.

Israeli National Remanded for Misusing GC Property in North

The 25 year old man was arrested last night at Paphos airport following a tip off as he was ready to board a plane home. He is being investigated for transactions in regard to property not registered to his name, use of land registered to a Greek-Cypriot refugee and income stemming from illegal activities.

The police headquarters CID has taken over the case, looking into possible accomplices, including buyers, suppliers and other associates in property transactions.

On Thursday, Nicosia district court remanded him for five days for investigations including money laundering, suspicious transactions in real estate and use of land registered to another person. 

The criminal investigation department (CID) in police headquarters in Nicosia continues investigations.
