Erhürman to the Government: Prove the "Sabotage" or Resign Immediately

Leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Tufan Erhürman, responded sharply to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel’s statement alleging “sabotage” at KIB-TEK following last night’s incidents at the Teknecik power plant. Erhürman, during his appearance on BRT’s “Manşet+” program hosted by Sonay Orbay, demanded that the government either provide evidence of the alleged sabotage or resign.

Erhürman to the Government: Prove the "Sabotage" or Resign Immediately

Erhürman criticized the Prime Minister’s language, highlighting that “working late into the night and being called ‘dishonorable’ is unacceptable.” He emphasized that while the CTP opposes any acts of sabotage against the nation's assets, there is no evidence of such an act in this case. He insisted that if the government is using the term "sabotage" as an excuse for the ongoing power outages, they should bear the consequences and step down.

He stressed the suffering experienced by all segments of society, including the elderly, infants, and children, under the current heatwave and accused the government of being indifferent to the people's plight.

"This is a Result of Poor Management and Neglect"

Erhürman went on to argue that the current issues are the result of poor governance and neglect. He pointed out that even the Chairman of the KIB-TEK Board of Directors has apologized for the situation, yet the government remains unresponsive. He accused the government of ignoring the warnings from KIB-TEK employees about the delayed fuel deliveries and the resulting damage to the machinery. Erhürman concluded by stating that the Prime Minister’s claim of sabotage is baseless, and if it cannot be substantiated, the government should resign immediately.

“This government cannot continue to insult the people and drag them through such disgrace without consequences,” Erhürman asserted, calling for accountability and immediate action from the government.
