Addressing the recent tension at the plant and the allegations of sabotage, Üstel explained the situation and the steps taken to resolve the issue. He mentioned that the government offered additional technical support for the repairs, which the plant’s personnel agreed to, but the union opposed.

"We Won't Allow Any Interference"

Üstel stated that the government was determined not to leave the public without electricity, particularly in the extreme heat, and criticized the union’s resistance to external assistance. He reiterated that the priority is to serve the public, not to bow to union pressures.

Üstel described the situation: "For three days, they insisted on not bringing the generators online. We asked why all five generators were down simultaneously. No one could provide an answer. When we inquired further, the likelihood of sabotage became apparent, and we assigned a team to investigate."

The Prime Minister also mentioned that when asked about the repair timeline, they were initially told it would take three to four more days. However, with the public’s needs in mind, Üstel insisted on faster action.

"Support Team Proposal Rejected by the Union"

Üstel highlighted that the government suggested bringing in a support team to assist the already exhausted workers, which the engineers on-site welcomed. However, the union opposed this proposal, stating they would not allow external technical services.

"We cannot leave the public without electricity!" Üstel declared, emphasizing the government's responsibility to ensure the well-being of the population, especially during such hot weather.

"Union Interference Led to Conflict"

The Prime Minister recounted the conflict with the union, stating that it led to the arrest of the union leader after tensions escalated at the power plant. He made it clear that no one, not even the union, has the right to leave the public without electricity.

"We'll Keep a Close Watch on the Power Plant"

Finally, Üstel assured that the five generators were repaired overnight and are now fully operational. He concluded by stressing that the government will maintain strict oversight of the power plant, ensuring that no further disruptions occur. "The power plant belongs to the people, and while the union can protect workers' rights, we will not tolerate any interference that leaves the public in the dark," Üstel said, emphasizing the government's commitment to ensuring continuous electricity supply for the people.
